Shared Frames is supported by the Spaces of Culture programme under Africa-Europe Partnerships for Culture, managed by EUNIC (EU National Institutes for Culture). This programme aims to improve Euro-African cultural cooperation, exchange, co-creation and dissemination across the two continents, with a view to promoting intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding.
OPEN CALL SHARED FRAMES
Shared Frames invites young and emerging Somali filmmakers, storytellers, and creatives living in Mogadishu or Garowe to develop and produce an original short film. The programme is designed for young creatives who are passionate about film, storytelling, and Somali culture, and who have an original story or short film idea they would like to develop.
Selected participants will receive professional mentorship, creative development, and practical filmmaking support throughout the process, while connecting and collaborating with fellow creatives through cultural exchange. Participants are expected to actively engage in the programme, be available for mentorship and production activities, and contribute positively to a collaborative creative environment.
The programme provides a platform for emerging Somali creatives to develop their ideas, strengthen their storytelling and filmmaking skills, exchange perspectives, and bring original Somali stories to the screen.
